The disciples of Jesus asked him to teach them how to pray because they saw that prayer was important to him. We are wired to be in touch with God because He has put eternity inside of us. Therefore, the most important thing about you is how often and how well you pray. In order to have a consistent life of prayer and build the habit, you can follow 4 steps to help when you talk to God. To help you remembering the steps, you can use the acronym: P.R.A.Y.
P= Pause
R= Rewind and rejoice
A= Ask
Y= Yield
First, pause whatever you are doing and listen to what your Father has to say to you. Then, tell God about your day, what you've been through, and thank Him for everything in your life. Also, you can ask your father for what you need, and finally, ask God to forgive you and forgive others to clean your heart of every seed of bitterness that can possibly be in your heart. Remember: it doesn't have to be elaborate, but it must be with all your heart.
